June gets the flags. Fall gets the better weather.
Most Pride calendars stop on June 30, which is strange, because some of the best queer events on earth happen once the northern summer is over. Asia’s largest march falls on Halloween this year. Argentina’s Pride lands in spring sunshine while New York digs out coats, and two of North America’s biggest queer ski weeks run back to back in January.
Off-season trips are usually easier, too: hotel demand is lower than June in most cities, and flights cost less outside school holidays.
We checked all 12 events below against official sites, city pages, or organizer announcements on August 18, 2026. Where a date isn’t published yet, we give the timing pattern instead of guessing. Two festivals you might expect here are paused for the year, and they get a section too.

September 2026
Southern Decadence, New Orleans, USA
When: Labor Day weekend, which in 2026 runs Thursday September 3 to Monday September 7. As of August 18, 2026, the Official Southern Decadence Guide still showed 2025 dates, so confirm on southerndecadence.com before booking anything non-refundable.
The official guide calls Decadence the largest LGBTQ+ event in New Orleans, and the French Quarter’s tourism association ranks it among the city’s biggest annual gatherings. It began in 1972 as a going-away party. What survived is the walking parade: no floats, no marching bands, just thousands following the Grand Marshals out of the Golden Lantern on Royal Street on Sunday.
Practical tip: Book three to six months out, and ask for a room off Bourbon Street unless you plan to be awake for all of it.
Also in September: two festivals that aren’t happening
Winter Pride in Queenstown and Gay Ski Week Australia both confirmed they would sit out 2026. Winter Pride’s organizers posted that the festival is on hiatus with a return planned for 2027, its 24th year. A Southern Hemisphere ski Pride is a 2027 trip now.
October 2026
Atlanta Pride, Atlanta, USA
When: Saturday October 10 and Sunday October 11, 2026, in Piedmont Park.
Atlanta Pride lands on the second full weekend of October, timed around National Coming Out Day on the 11th, and organizers bill it as the largest free Pride festival in the United States. JT and drag icon Shea Couleé are booked for the 2026 main stage. The weekend closes with the Starlight Cabaret, which Atlanta Pride describes as the largest outdoor drag show in the country.
Practical tip: Take MARTA rail to Midtown or Arts Center. Piedmont Park parking is effectively nonexistent on festival weekend.
Come Out With Pride, Orlando, USA
When: Saturday October 17, 2026, at Lake Eola Park, noon to 10 p.m. Free.
Organizers report more than 230,000 attendees in 2025 and describe this as the biggest single-day event in Central Florida. The Most Colorful Parade traditionally steps off at 4 p.m. from Washington Street and Orange Avenue and finishes at Lake Eola, where the night ends with fireworks over the water.
Practical tip: Lake Eola has almost no shade and October in Florida is still hot. Plan an air-conditioned break before the 4 p.m. parade.
Taiwan LGBT+ Pride, Taipei, Taiwan
When: Saturday October 31, 2026, confirmed on the official site as the 24th edition.
The organizing association holds the parade on the last Saturday of October every year and describes it as both Taiwan’s largest and East Asia’s largest, with close to 200,000 people and more than 200 groups on the street. Individuals don’t register: you turn up and join a contingent. The route publishes in early October, so don’t plan around last year’s map. In 2026 the parade falls on Halloween itself.
Practical tip: Hotels near Ximen and Taipei Main Station tighten through September. Ximen’s Red House area has anchored the scene since the 1990s and takes most of the after-parade energy.
West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval, West Hollywood, USA
When: Halloween night, Saturday October 31, 2026, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., on Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny and La Cienega. The city hadn’t posted full 2026 details as of mid-August, so check weho.org for street closures.
One mile of Route 66 shuts down through the Rainbow District and fills with costumes. It’s free, no tickets, with the main stage at Santa Monica and San Vicente. The city’s post-event report put the 2025 crowd at roughly 166,000, well under the pre-pandemic peak of half a million, though the format has been tighter since 2023. Key West’s Fantasy Fest, October 16 to 25, is the month’s other big queer costume week.
Practical tip: Don’t drive. The city has run a free WeHo Halloween Ride shuttle along Santa Monica Boulevard in place of regular Cityline and PickUp service on Halloween night, with connections toward the Hollywood/Highland Metro station.
November 2026
Greater Palm Springs Pride, Palm Springs, USA
When: Friday November 6 to Sunday November 8, 2026. Parade steps off Sunday at 10 a.m.
The 40th edition runs under the theme “Be Included,” and organizers expect more than 200,000 people across the weekend with an estimated $38 million in local economic impact. The parade carries more than 225 entries from Uptown down Palm Canyon Drive to Amado Road and takes about two hours to pass. Nightly block parties spread across downtown and the Arenas District.
Practical tip: Rates climb hard for Pride weekend and the walkable core is small. Book by early October if you want to stay within stumbling distance of Arenas Road.
Marcha del Orgullo, Buenos Aires, Argentina
When: Saturday November 7, 2026. Organizers have published the shape of the day: a fair with live bands from 10 a.m., then the march at 4 p.m. from Plaza de Mayo to Congreso along Avenida de Mayo.
This is the 35th edition, and it feels different from a June parade in Europe or North America. Argentina legalized same-sex marriage in 2010 and passed one of the world’s strongest gender identity laws in 2012, and the march keeps a sharp political edge alongside the party. November is late spring here.
Practical tip: Palermo and the Zona Rosa around Avenida Córdoba hold most of the bars. The march wraps near Congreso in the early evening, and clubs don’t fill until after midnight.
December 2026
Tropical Fruits New Year’s Festival, Lismore, Australia
When: December 28, 2026 to January 2, 2027, at Lismore Showground, per the club’s published 2026 event calendar. Theme and ticket tiers land later in the year.
Tropical Fruits has run since 1988 in the New South Wales Northern Rivers, an area locals call the Rainbow Region, and it’s the closest thing queer Australia has to summer camp. The format repeats each year: the campsite opens before Christmas week ends, then a campers-only party, then New Year’s Eve from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. across two stages with a firework finale, then a pool party on January 1. Entry is free for LGBTIQSB+ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander attendees.
Practical tip: Camping numbers are strictly limited and must be pre-booked. Shuttles run from Byron, Ballina and other coastal towns, and coastal routes need advance reservations.
January 2027
Aspen Gay Ski Week, Aspen, USA
When: Sunday January 17 to Sunday January 24, 2027. The festival calls this edition its Golden Jubilee.
Aspen has run this since 1977, the oldest event in this calendar by a wide margin and, by its own account, the longest-running on-snow Pride in the country. The week is built on free daily après at the Limelight from 3 to 7 p.m., with ticketed nights layered on: a Legacy and Honors evening on January 19, dance parties at Belly Up and the Caribou Club, and a pool party finale at the Aspen Recreation Center on January 23. Proceeds go to AspenOUT’s mental health services.
Practical tip: Aspen lodging in January is expensive before you add a festival, and a 50th-anniversary edition won’t help. If the town is out of range, look at Snowmass and use the free bus.
Whistler Pride Festival, Whistler, Canada
When: Sunday January 24 to Sunday January 31, 2027. One detail matters: this festival has run under new management since 2026 and states plainly that it isn’t affiliated with the older Whistler Pride & Ski Festival organization or whistlerpride.com. Use whistlerpridefestival.com for tickets.
Whistler has hosted winter Pride for more than 30 years, and the current festival keeps the shape: skiing and riding, daily après, evening parties, and community events across Whistler Blackcomb. Full 2027 programming was due in the fall.
Practical tip: Whistler sits about two hours from Vancouver International Airport up the Sea to Sky Highway, and late January is peak season. Sort lodging and dinner reservations before rentals.
February 2027
Auckland Rainbow Parade, Auckland, New Zealand
When: Saturday February 20, 2027. Pre-parade entertainment from 5.30 p.m., parade from 7.30 p.m., starting on Tole Street and heading toward Western Park.
Auckland runs its parade at night in high summer, a very different experience from a hot midday march. It’s free, family-friendly, and rooted in Ponsonby, the city’s historic queer neighborhood. The parade is organized separately from the wider Auckland Pride festival programme, which fills February with community events and usually publishes in January.
Practical tip: Stay in Ponsonby or Grey Lynn and you can walk to everything. February is peak domestic holiday season, so rooms are competitive for reasons unrelated to Pride.
Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Sydney, Australia
When: The official parade date is Saturday March 6, 2027, on Oxford Street and Flinders Street, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., free to watch. The festival season around it opens in the second half of February.
This matters if you’re booking off memory: Mardi Gras gets filed under February, but in 2027 the parade falls in early March. A February trip catches Fair Day and the early programme; the parade needs the first weekend of March.
Practical tip: Free viewing spots along Oxford Street fill from early afternoon, and ticketed grandstand seating is the reliable alternative. Darlinghurst and Surry Hills book out months ahead, so if you want to walk home, book by December.
Planning tips for off-season Pride travel
Match your lead time to the town size, not the event size. Palm Springs, Key West, Whistler and Aspen are small places hosting large crowds, so they price out first. Atlanta, Taipei and Buenos Aires give you more slack, often into the month before.
Watch for events that changed hands or paused. Whistler’s festival is run by a different organization than the one that held the name for decades, and two Southern Hemisphere ski prides sat out 2026. Aggregator ticket links can point at the wrong organizer, so start from the official site every time.
Know which dates are actually fixed. Taiwan Pride is always the last Saturday of October. Atlanta is the second full weekend. Southern Decadence is Labor Day weekend. Those three you can plan around with confidence; anything without a published 2027 programme you can’t.
Book daytime plans early. Day trips and walking tours sell out during festival weeks along with the hotels.
FAQ
Is Taiwan Pride the biggest in Asia?
It’s the biggest in East Asia, and its organizers describe it that way. The Taipei parade runs on the last Saturday of October each year, which is October 31 in 2026, and the organizing association reports close to 200,000 participants with more than 200 groups taking part. Taiwan was also the first place in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, in 2019.
When is Sydney Mardi Gras 2027?
The parade is Saturday March 6, 2027, on Oxford Street and Flinders Street, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., free to watch. The festival season opens in the second half of February, so a February trip catches the build-up rather than the parade. If the parade is the point of the trip, book the first weekend of March.
Which fall and winter Pride events aren’t running in 2026?
Winter Pride in Queenstown, New Zealand, announced a hiatus for 2026 and plans to return in 2027 for its 24th year. Gay Ski Week Australia also confirmed it wouldn’t run in 2026. Separately, Whistler’s winter Pride is now produced by a new organization with no connection to the older whistlerpride.com site.
What’s the warmest Pride event in November?
Palm Springs, November 6 to 8, is the easy answer in the US: desert sunshine, a short walkable route, and the 40th edition in 2026. If you can travel further, Buenos Aires on November 7 is late spring in the Southern Hemisphere, and the Marcha del Orgullo down Avenida de Mayo has a civic scale few parades match.
