Axel Hotels is the only major hotel chain that explicitly markets itself as “heterofriendly” — meaning they’re designed for LGBTQ+ travelers but welcome everyone. The three European properties (Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin) are all located in or adjacent to the main gay neighborhoods. They feature rooftop bars, queer events, and a cosmopolitan vibe. Elysium Hotel (Mykonos)
Mykonos is one of the world’s premier gay travel destinations, and Elysium is its best-known gay hotel. Infinity pool, clothing-optional sun deck, sunset cocktails. It’s expensive and books out months in advance for July-August. Plan ahead.
The Z Hotel Soho (London)
Soho is London’s historic queer neighborhood (Old Compton Street, G-A-Y, Heaven). The Z Hotel is a budget-friendly compact hotel right in the middle of it.
