What works well

Unlimited devices

This is Surfshark’s killer feature and it’s genuinely useful. Most VPNs cap at 6-10 simultaneous connections. Surfshark doesn’t cap at all. Phone, laptop, tablet, smart TV, partner’s phone, kid’s tablet, spare phone, router — all connected on one account. No other major consumer VPN offers this.

For LGBTQ+ travelers who carry multiple devices and want to protect a partner’s devices too, unlimited is a real differentiator.

Speed on Asian routes

“Unlimited” with fine print

The unlimited connections feature is real, but Surfshark’s fair use policy allows them to investigate accounts with “abnormally high” connection counts. In practice, 10-20 devices is fine. 100+ on a shared account could trigger a review.

Upsell within the app

Surfshark pushes Surfshark One (antivirus + search + alert) and Surfshark Antivirus during onboarding. The core VPN is solid, but the checkout flow defaults to the more expensive bundle. Uncheck what you don’t need.

Two separate toggles for stealth

“Camouflage Mode” and “NoBorders” are separate toggles. Most users want both on when traveling in restrictive countries, but the app doesn’t make this obvious. A single “stealth mode” toggle would be cleaner.
